RIVERVIEW ESTATES RESIDENTS BE AWARE AND ALERT
The executive board has recently been notified that a dog attack occurred in our community on March 29, 2022. We were told that an individual visiting the community was attacked without provocation by a dog described as an Akita breed, causing severe injury. We were advised that this attack occurred in the street. Finally, we were told that the dog in question has a history of attacking other human beings without provocation.
We have not been able to determine whether this dog is still in our community or vicinity. We have confirmed that the Forks Township Police Department are investigating in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Dog Warden. We have been in contact with the Forks Township Police and the victim’s family. However, we are unable to determine whether the dog is still in our vicinity at this time.
It is vitally important that all Riverview Estates community members and visitors be aware of the danger this dog may still potentially pose to individuals of all ages as well as pets in any location in and around our community. BE AWARE AND ALERT, including for children when out playing or at bus stops, when out in your yard or walking in the streets or on walking trails, or wherever you, your family, visitors and pets may be outside in or around the community at this time.
Additionally, in our capacity as the Executive Board of the Riverview Homeowner’s Association, we have directed that the owners of the dog in question immediately remove it from the premises and from the Riverview Community. We will use all available measures at our disposal to ensure their compliance. In addition, we will continue to follow the investigation being pursued by police and dog warden.
